When Trisha Batra and Parth Patel decided to tie the knot, they didn’t just plan a wedding—they created an unforgettable cinematic experience that blended Bollywood flair, cultural traditions, and the kind of love story straight out of a Karan Johar film. From grand performances to heartfelt moments, every detail of their celebration was curated to dazzle, entertain, and, most importantly, celebrate their decade-long journey of love. Think Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani meets Hollywood, with Trisha as the fiery Punjabi Rocky and Parth as the graceful Gujarati Rani. Their wedding didn’t just bring two families together—it fused two vibrant cultures in the most spectacular way.
Taking cues from Bollywood, the couple blended drama, flair, and familial love, making their wedding a joyous celebration of who they are as individuals and as a couple. From a playful nod to cultural traditions to viral dance performances that would leave Karan Johar in awe, this wedding had it all. Let’s relive every magical moment of their epic journey to “I Do.”
From Oreos to soulmates: A love story for the ages
Every great Bollywood romance begins with an unexpected spark, and Trisha and Parth’s story was no exception. Their first meeting, at Parth’s sister’s Sweet 16, was as ordinary as sharing a few laughs over Oreos and a garba lesson. But that moment turned into something extraordinary as they danced their way into each other’s lives and hearts. “Our love story began at Parth’s sister’s party. Ten years later, he proposed at Newport Beach with a ‘Marry Me’ sign and my favourite sunflowers. Meeting the parents was a step-by-step process, starting with my dad, followed by my mom, and then Parth’s family. Over the years, we grew together from teenagers to adults, strengthening our bond with every milestone,” mentions Trisha.
“Think of the movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, but in reverse—Trisha is Rocky and Parth is Rani. Over the years, our families have taught us so much about each other’s cultures. Parth learned Hindi, Punjabi, and even bhangra, while I embraced Gujarati culture, mastering garba. For the past decade, we’ve spent time blending our traditions, visiting each other’s homes, and learning from each other” said Trisha.
The art of planning an epic wedding
Trisha and Parth didn’t just want a wedding; they wanted an experience, and they made it happen with the help of their families. Instead of hiring wedding planners, this event was curated by their families. Weekly planning sessions turned into bonding moments, where creativity and teamwork ensured no detail was overlooked. Merging Punjabi and Gujarati traditions meant navigating the intricacies of both cultures. From streamlining ceremonies to choosing décor that honoured both heritages, every decision was a labour of love. The result? A wedding where tradition met innovation, creating an unforgettable series of events that were as emotionally resonant as they were visually stunning.
The celebrations: Lights. Camera. Magic.
A carnival to remember – The Jaggo
The Jaggo was nothing short of a Punjabi carnival, complete with bright lights, energetic performances, and whimsical carnival games. Guests were treated to a lively atmosphere featuring dartboards, circus performers, and an ambience straight out of a fairground. The highlight? The loved ones took the stage, delivering hilarious and heartfelt dance performances that had everyone cheering.
Henna, safari, and connection – The Mehndi
Trisha and Parth’s Mehndi was not your typical henna party. Hosted at Tandoor, the safari-themed event was a delightful mix of elegance and playfulness. Imagine animal-shaped décor, jungle-inspired props, and henna artists creating intricate designs while loved ones mingled over drinks and laughter. The Mehndi wasn’t just about applying henna—it was a celebration of community, where families from India, the UK, and the US came together to share in the joy.
Tradition and intimacy – Ganesh Puja, Pithi & Garba Sangeet
The morning ceremonies were spiritual and serene, bringing the families together for the Ganesh Puja and Pithi. These rituals symbolised blessings and purification, grounding the wedding festivities in tradition. With the closest family members present, these intimate moments were deeply meaningful, highlighting the cultural significance of the union.
The Garba Sangeet was a visual and emotional extravaganza that would make Bollywood choreographers envious. Inspired by Rajasthani aesthetics and local carnivals, the evening dazzled with intricate décor, traditional music, and perfectly synchronised dance performances by Parth’s family. The event honoured Gujarati culture by turning the night into a high-energy celebration filled with rhythm, joy and unbreakable bonds.
A blockbuster movie – The Wedding
On November 24, under a majestic red-and-gold mandap, Trisha and Parth’s wedding ceremony unfolded with all the grandeur of a Bollywood climax. Emotions ran high as the couple performed sacred rituals, surrounded by the love of family and friends. A standout moment was the presence of Trisha’s nana, whose attendance despite health challenges brought tears of gratitude and joy. Parth adds, “Trisha had always envisioned getting married at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach, and we were thrilled to secure the date.”
A winter wonderland finale – The Reception
The reception was the cherry on top of a spectacular wedding week. Inspired by a winter wonderland, the décor featured polar bears, sparkling snowflakes, and plush velvet blankets for guests.
“One of the highlights was Trisha performing a tap dance in her bridal lehenga, which went viral, garnering over 100K views online,” says the groom about the dance that blended her Bollywood spirit with her unique style. The night ended with laughter, dancing, and memories that will last a lifetime.
A wardrobe as vibrant as the celebrations
Jaggo
Trisha dazzled in a lehenga by Angad Singh, inspired by the timeless charm of Anushka Sharma’s celebrated mehndi outfit. This piece balanced modern flair with deep-rooted tradition, featuring intricate embroidery and a pop of vibrant hues that harmonised with the lively carnival-themed Jaggo. Parth complemented her in a suave kurta pyjama set that echoed the festive energy of the night. The playful yet sophisticated ensembles allowed the couple to immerse themselves in the dancing and games while looking effortlessly stylish.
Mehndi
For the safari-themed Mehndi, Trisha embraced her fun-loving side in a vibrant, quirky creation by Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika. Known for their bold and whimsical designs, the outfit featured bright embellishments, playful tassels, and contemporary cuts that perfectly suited the intimate yet colourful vibe of the evening. Parth chose a pastel sherwani with subtle details that provided a perfect counterpoint to Trisha’s bold ensemble. Together, their outfits painted a picture of youthful exuberance and creativity.
Ganesh Puja & Garba Sangeet
Trisha and Parth turned to Shyamal & Bhumika for the Ganesh Puja and Garba Sangeet, and the result was nothing short of breathtaking. For the morning Puja, Trisha wore a soft pastel lehenga adorned with delicate threadwork and a dupatta draped with regal grace, reflecting the sanctity of the occasion. Parth complemented her in a traditional kurta with understated elegance. By evening, they transitioned to rich Rajasthani-inspired outfits, with Trisha donning a deep-hued lehenga featuring mirror work and bold embroidery, and Parth in a bandhgala exuding royal charm. Their coordinated outfits underscored the cultural authenticity and grandeur of the event.
Haldi
For the joyful Haldi ceremony, Trisha wore a floral design by Payal Singhal, brimming with freshness and vibrancy. The outfit, crafted with pastel hues and delicate floral motifs, mirrored the playful splashes of turmeric and the sunshine-filled atmosphere. Fresh flower accessories added a touch of ethereal beauty, making her look like a spring goddess amidst the cheerful chaos of the Haldi. Parth, too, embraced a sunny palette with a simple yet stylish kurta that stood resilient against the inevitable turmeric stains.
Wedding
“Instead of travelling to India for wedding shopping, we worked with Shyamal & Bhumika to create custom outfits, drawing on my years of experience modelling for Indian designers in California,” the bride revealed. The wedding day was Trisha’s ultimate fashion statement. She wore a red lehenga by the designers, which was intricately embroidered with gold threadwork, embodying timeless Gujarati bridal traditions. A deep red choli and an elaborate dupatta enhanced the grandeur of the ensemble, which Trisha had personally designed alongside Bhumika herself.
Her look was completed with a stunningly long veil and traditional jewellery that radiated elegance. Parth mirrored her regal demeanour in an ivory sherwani accented with gold embroidery, exuding the perfect balance of opulence and subtlety for the solemn ceremony.
Reception
For the final act, the reception, Trisha stunned in a Falguni Shane Peacock creation, a masterpiece of icy tones and shimmering embellishments. The gown featured intricate beading and crystals that caught the light, turning her into a vision straight out of a winter wonderland. The dramatic silhouette and ethereal design perfectly captured the theme of the night. Parth looked equally dapper in a classic tuxedo with velvet detailing, ensuring the couple embodied the elegance and magic of a frosted fairytale as they danced the night away under faux snowflakes and dazzling lights.
Themes, décor and Bollywood drama
If Bollywood films taught us anything, it’s that visuals matter. Each event at Trisha and Parth’s wedding was a masterclass in design and storytelling. The Jaggo brought the playfulness of a Punjabi mela, while the Mehndi whisked guests to a jungle paradise. The Garba Sangeet showcased traditional Gujarat with a Rajasthani twist, and the reception’s winter wonderland theme made every guest feel like they were part of a magical fairytale.
“As the bride, there was naturally a lot of pressure since this is a huge milestone and much of the attention is on the bride. However, Trisha’s background as a performer made this an enjoyable experience, allowing her to embrace the week’s photoshoots, dancing, and socialising. Staying present and appreciating the once-in-a-lifetime nature of the events helped her remain calm and focused” said Parth.
Trisha and Parth’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration; it was a reminder that love, family, and tradition make the most powerful combination. Their advice to other couples? Live in the moment. Weddings are about more than just pretty pictures and perfect choreography—they’re about the love you share and the memories you create. With a love story straight out of a Bollywood movie, Trisha and Parth’s wedding wasn’t just an event—it was an experience, a celebration of culture, and a hymn to the magic of love.
