Actor Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, fondly known as Kanchi and best known for her work in Guilty, married filmmaker Sharan Sharma, the director behind Mr. & Mrs. Mahi and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, got married on July 11, 2026. The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the bride’s family home in Mumbai. Keeping true to their low-key personalities, the couple chose a private celebration attended by close family and a tight-knit circle of friends instead of a grand celebrity affair. The emotional ceremony unfolded beneath floral canopies in the home’s garden, with traditional rituals, heartfelt vows and candid moments. The celebrations continued with a glamorous reception at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu the following evening.
Akansha and Sharan’s love story
Like their wedding, Akansha and Sharan’s romance blossomed away from the public eye. The pair reportedly began dating in 2022 after being introduced through mutual friends and kept their relationship under wraps for several months before making occasional public appearances together. Despite working in the same industry, they largely chose privacy over headlines, often travelling together and rarely speaking about their relationship.
In a poetic coincidence, the couple exchanged vows on the very date they had begun dating four years earlier. Akansha changed into a sculptural gold Gaurav Gupta lehenga featuring the couturier’s signature molten crystal detailing and a dramatic cape, offering a striking contrast to her traditional wedding look. The reception drew an even larger gathering of Bollywood names including Bobby Deol, Janhvi Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Jackie Shroff, Randeep Hooda and Neena Gupta, as friends and family came together to toast the newlyweds.
