The first thing Sameer Sundrani ever did for Snehal Bindra was buy a pair of scrubs he did not need. Before their first date, she had half-jokingly texted that she could not be the only one showing up from a hospital shift. He was a brand-new medical student, took the joke at face value, bought a pair and arrived in them. In retrospect, it’s a precise preview of the man and the marriage that followed: romantic in a way that requires actual effort and unwilling to let a good moment pass underprepared. Seven years later, that same instinct nudged Sameer to plan orchestrate “an incredibly romantic seven-day scavenger hunt featuring custom papyrus letters and wax seals. The hunt culminated atop Summit One Vanderbilt in New York City, where he proposed with a ring he designed himself,” shares Snehal. And then it made way for three days in Tuscany at a 700-year-old medieval estate, where a Sikh ceremony unfolded against Italian cypress and vine.
Snehal is a psychiatrist, born in Indonesia and raised in India. Sameer is a neurosurgeon, born in Chicago and raised in California. They met during medical training in Nashville. “Our instant spark quickly evolved into a deep partnership built through the long hours and big dreams of medical school, rooted in a shared love for food, travel, and highly curated itineraries,” the couple recalls. The itinerary instinct became the blueprint for their destination wedding in Italy in April 2026.
The Glocal Wedding Vision

“As a creative, sentimental, and delightfully non-traditional couple, we wanted our wedding to feel as deeply intentional as the life we are building together,” says Snehal. The central vision was to weave Sikh tradition into the rustic, historic character of the Italian countryside, creating what the couple describes as a love letter to their two distinct worlds. The venue was Il Borro Toscana, a 1,000-year-old medieval Tuscan estate that offered the exact juxtaposition they were seeking: the vibrant colour and ceremony of their heritage set against the serene architecture of cypress and vine. Working with Bianco Bouquet Weddings, they planned a celebration centred on breaking traditional moulds while honouring their culture within a luxury destination format.
Through the Lens

The decision to document the weekend with Cupcake Productions was one the couple credits as foundational to how the wedding lives on now that it is over. “Working with Shruti Khanna and Jayant Chhabra allowed us to capture every cinematic and raw emotion of the weekend,” says Snehal. “They did an incredible job bringing our vision to life dynamically.” What made the collaboration particularly meaningful was their ability to be present in the unseen moments, most significantly, during the private vow exchange in the estate gardens during their first look.

“They captured behind-the-scenes milestones — like our private vow exchange — so we could share our joy seamlessly with the world,” adds Sameer. Across three days and three different aesthetic environments, from the avant-garde theatrics of the welcome dinner to the sacred stillness of the outdoor Anand Karaj, the team maintained a visual language that was elegant and personal.
Day One: The Met Gala Welcome Dinner

The weekend opened on the evening of April 19 with a Met Gala-themed welcome dinner at the stunning venue. Guests arrived in their most stunning finery for the “avant-garde, cinematic, high-fashion” evening. The food, executed by Creative Cuisines Inc and Galateo Ricevimenti, was the highlight.

“A seven-course autobiographical menu was presented to our loved ones, where each course represented a specific city that Sameer and I had explored and loved throughout our relationship,” the couple shares, remains one of their favourite memories from the weekend. Snehal wore a sleek Vera Wang gown that brought modern elegance and an iconic bridal silhouette to the theatrical evening and Sameer wore a black suit with bejewelled details.
Day Two: The Sun-Kissed Haldi

“Our Haldi on the next day was a sun-drenched, joyful poolside celebration punctuated by lively, surprise choreography.” The surprise performance transformed an already high-energy gathering into something that could only be described as euphoric. The mood was bright and warm, which showed in every detail, from the outfits to the décor. Snehal stood out in powder blue and yellow Shivan & Narresh ensemble with intricate detail. Sameer, in a complementary festive ensemble by Rahul Mishra, sat beside her at the centre of it all as friends and family pressed in around them and applied haldi to them.
Day Three: The Anand Karaj & Reception

The wedding day, on April 21, began with the kind of grandeur that stops a person in their tracks. For the Anand Karaj, florist Federica Ambrosini constructed an extraordinary mandap: a deep emerald green pavilion framed by an arch of flowers in every conceivable colour, from coral and orange to ivory and yellow. The surrounding ground was blanketed in further florals, creating an immersive garden that dissolved the line between altar and landscape.

Snehal wore a heavily embroidered silver lehenga by Falguni Shane Peacock for the sacred ceremony. Sameer, dressed in his ivory sherwani and pale pink dastar, seated beside her as the four laava, the Sikh wedding prayers, echoed out across the valley. “Hearing the sacred laava echoing through the quiet Italian hills,” the couple says, was among the most affecting moments of the entire three-day event.

But before the ceremony, there was the matter of how they arrived. In a deliberate subversion of the tradition of a solo groom’s procession, Snehal and Sameer entered together for what they called the “Couples Baraat. Why should boys have all the fun?” the couple asked. And so Snehal kicked off the evening by arriving in style in a stunning vintage Mercedes, as a symbolic gesture of equals.

For the reception that followed, Snehal changed into a figure-hugging red embroidered gown by Isa by Dolly Wahl with a dramatic floor-length tulle train. Sameer complemented her in a tailored ivory suit by Rohit Bal. Against the outdoor floral backdrop, with the Tuscan hills in the distance and a sea of pink and white blooms at their feet, the couple shared their first dance under a structure of white draping and living greenery.
The Guest of Honour

No account of this wedding would be complete without acknowledging Mozzarella, the couple’s Goldendoodle, who made the journey from the United States to Tuscany, adhered strictly to each event’s dress code, and stood, in the couple’s own words, as “the goodest and tiniest guest of honour.”
