In the era of instant matches and instant gratification, Amrita Bisla and Rossano Bhandal’s story reminds us that true love still takes its time. Though they first connected online ten years ago, their relationship blossomed at its own unhurried pace, from digital banter to real-world chemistry, from friendship to forever. Their two-year-long courtship, too, was defined by patience and purpose.
Both based in London, they balanced demanding creative careers with the slow, thoughtful planning of a wedding that was entirely their own. For Amrita, a creative producer and set designer for some of the UK’s largest YouTubers and podcasts, and Rossano, an account manager at a software company, the process wasn’t just about a single day but about celebrating a decade-long story of steady growth, deep friendship and enduring love.
The Proposal in Tulum
The proposal was straight out of a cinematic dream. In the summer of 2023, while holidaying in Tulum, Rossano surprised Amrita with a private dinner on the rooftop of their luxury hotel. Against the sound of the waves and the glow of flickering candles, he asked her to marry him. “It was the perfect surprise,” Amrita says. She had no idea what was coming, especially since she was convinced he would propose later, during a trip to Milan. But Rossano had planned every detail meticulously. The spontaneity and warmth of that moment set the tone for their wedding that was, in every sense, a labour of love.
A Vision Two Years in the Making
The couple’s engagement echoed their approach to love that’s measured and meaningful. Over two years, they crafted a celebration that honoured their Punjabi roots yet reflected their modern sensibilities, “a wedding rooted in heritage, but uniquely ours,” as Amrita puts it. They curated moodboards on Pinterest, coordinated vendors through shared Instagram folders, and meticulously planned every visual detail themselves, without a wedding planner. “We both wanted the wedding to feel intentional, elegant and personal,” says Rossano. From mood to menu, no decision was made without meaning.
Finding a venue that balanced grandeur with intimacy proved challenging, especially near Amrita’s hometown of Bristol. Then came Elmore Court, an 800-year-old stately home whose old-world charm and pastoral serenity struck the perfect chord. “We always envisioned a stately home, something with history, elegance and warmth so this was perfect,” says Amrita. The venue’s sprawling grounds and honey-hued architecture set the stage for an Anglo-Indian fairytale.
The Pre-Wedding Events

The wedding week, starting from August 26, 2025, opened with a heartwarming Maiyan. The ceremony was a riot of music, colour and nostalgia.

It was followed by a joyful Ladies Sangeet at Amrita’s family home in Bristol. With DJ Nav on the decks, the occasion pulsed with energy as friends and family danced under strings of lights. Amrita took a departure from her usual pastel palette in favour of a vibrant multicoloured lehenga by Mahima Mahajan via Roops Couture.

“It was such a playful, celebratory outfit, full of movement and life,” she says. The décor, done in soft florals and twinkling accents, brought warmth and whimsy to the evening.
The following day was all about intimate traditions and laughter. Amrita’s hands were adorned by henna in intricate designs, while her closest circle surrounded her with song and stories. The laid-back décor created a homely yet festive atmosphere, with earthy tones, florals and pops of colour that reflected her creative touch.

The celebrations amped up at The Bristol Hotel for the pre-wedding party, styled by Matharu’s and soundtracked by DJ Kikli Roadshow. Guests arrived dressed to impress, met by rich jewel-toned décor, candlelit tables and a high-energy playlist that blended Punjabi beats with international favourites. It was the perfect transition from family festivities to full-fledged celebration.
The Big Day

On August 30, Amrita and Rossano tied the knot in a deeply spiritual ceremony at St George Gurdwara in Bristol. The atmosphere was serene yet grand, with a sea of pastel hues, delicate floristry and heartfelt emotion in the air. Rossano’s entrance, accompanied by Baja Beats playing the ‘Rocky’ theme tune on trumpets and dhols, set the tone.

The Anand Karaj was serene and heartfelt. With soft music, pastel florals, and the warmth of loved ones around them, Amrita and Rossano exchanged vows in an atmosphere filled with calm, love, and gratitude. Every moment felt intimate and genuine. Guests were treated to a scrumptious menu by Roti & Co.

“Friends and family travelled from all corners of the world, from Germany to Canada, and across the UK, to be with us. Having everyone together created an atmosphere filled with warmth, love and excitement that we will never forget,” recalls Amrita.
The Regal Wedding Wardrobe

Each bridal outfit, from Amrita’s multicoloured sangeet lehenga to her pastel gurdwara ensemble, carried its own mood and narrative arc. For her, the wedding look was all about storytelling. It was inspired by the vintage grandeur of ‘Heeramandi’ and the regal finesse of Mughal courts. “We both fell in love with the Netflix show’s aesthetic, from the textures to the old-world glamour. We wanted to bring that essence into our looks,” she says.

Rossano’s style mirrored hers, refined yet rich in heritage, blending Mughal silhouettes with British tailoring. “Amrita didn’t show me her outfit before the big day for obvious reasons. But she was involved throughout my process, seeing all of my fittings and helping me make decisions on colour and finishing touches to ensure our looks would sit beautifully together. That balance between secrecy on her side and openness on mine made it really special when we finally saw each other’s outfits on the day,” revealed Rossano, who wore a blush and sage sherwani by Chana Menswear.
The Statement Jewels

Amrita’s jewellery from Maala London played a defining role in her bridal identity. She discovered the brand through her stylist and immediately connected with Kindo, the founder. “Kindo’s attention to detail and the way she made me feel comfortable instantly put me at ease,” says Amrita. “I trusted her completely.”

Amrita spent nearly six hours trying pieces, eventually falling in love with a champagne-gold set that Kindo customised with subtle green and pink hues to match her lehenga. The final look, complete with earrings, tikka, passa, choora and kaleere, radiated understated luxury. Each piece came in a personalised engraved wooden box, turning her jewellery into keepsakes she’ll treasure forever. “Originally, I went to her just looking for jewellery to go with my wedding lehenga, but also brought pieces for my sangeet.”
A Reception to Remember

The following day at Elmore Court marked the grand finale. The civil ceremony took place in the walled garden beneath a canopy of wisteria, followed by cocktails in the drawing room and dinner in The Gillyflower.

Amrita stunned in a custom ivory corseted gown inspired by Wiederhoeft and Vivienne Westwood, with structured lace detailing and a high-neck finish. Rossano matched her elegance in a tailored white dinner jacket, black trousers and a bow tie, gifted alongside Gucci cufflinks from her parents. The pair exuded effortless sophistication, embodying a refined fusion of East and West.

It was a tender, heartfelt ceremony, where every word of their vows carried the weight of a decade of love and shared dreams. The décor mirrored their vision of “timeless yet contemporary”, with florals by Sorori Design Events. Personal touches made the day uniquely theirs: custom-designed invitations illustrated by the couple themselves, disposable cameras on each table wrapped in “Rossano & Amrita” stickers, and a late-night pizza station by Dough Wood Fired Pizza. Instead of a guestbook, guests left messages on playing cards, which is now framed in their home as a cherished keepsake.

“The register wedding and reception were the perfect finale. After over a year of planning and all the inevitable stresses along the way, seeing everything come together so seamlessly felt magical. For me, it was so important to truly live in the moment on our wedding day. I’d often heard brides say that their day flew by in a blur, but I was determined to savour every second and I did. From start to finish, it was a day overflowing with happiness, laughter, and love. It truly was the perfect ending to our celebrations.”
