The expression, \u201cLove finds you when you stop looking for it\u201d, maybe as stereotypical as they come. But it was exactly the case with Guwahati-born, New Delhi-based engineer-turned-content creator Manish Bhowmick and IT expert Nitesh Rawat based in the capital city. The couple met in what can be \u201cthe darkest time of our lives.\u201d Manish was battling a tragic heartbreak during the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. \u201cAround that time amidst the lockdown, I came out to my family. And they decided to never speak to me because of my sexual orientation. My sister was the only one to accept and support me,\u201d he shares about his exile. Nitesh, on the other hand, was fighting another fight. \u201cI was constantly getting pressurized by my family to get married to a girl as I had just turned 26. Naturally, I kept rejecting all the proposals coming my way,\u201d recalls Nitesh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe both almost lost all hope,\u201d the duo chime in. It was then, out of nowhere, when Cupid\u2019s arrow hit them with that much-needed ray of light. In 2023, Nitesh texted Manish. After their first date, they instantly hit it off. It wasn\u2019t long before that small spark evolved into a euphoric, all-consuming fire. \u201cA year into the relationship, when we got serious, I came out to my family. My mother and sister accepted me but my brother and father didn\u2019t. Leaving my home, like Manish, was one of the hardest things to do, but it was also the most liberating.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
