Experience Delicious Flavours Straight From The Western Ghats In India At This Michelin-Star London Restaurant

Tucked away in the heart of Marylebone, Trishna London brings the soul of coastal southwest India to the city’s fine dining scene. With a Michelin star to its name, the restaurant is an offshoot of its legendary counterpart Gymkhana and is known for redefining Indian seafood. Trishna’s charm lies in its contemporary approach to tradition, by giving signature coastal classics a refined, modern edge. On offer is an eclectic array of menus, which span the range of à la carte, exclusive vegetarian or vegan tasting menus, Koliwada tasting, and lunch or early-evening set options. Whether seafood lovers want to indulge in their OG star of the show, brown crab with lots of butter and a kick of red chilli, try Pepper Prawn Chukka, relish soft‑shell crab, or prefer vegetarian favourites like Jackfruit & Asparagus Pepper Fry and Paneer Tikka, the offerings are diverse, vibrantly spiced and beautifully balanced.

Now, Trishna invites diners on a new culinary journey with “A Taste of the Western Ghats”—a menu inspired by the spice-rich, forested highlands of India.

The vibe and service

Trishna’s interior design marries minimalist elegance with subtle coastal warmth. The space is anchored by pale blue reclaimed timber panelling and white‑washed brickwork, complemented by exposed original wood and tumbled marble surfaces. Above each solid oak table hang antique brass or classic pendant lamps casting a golden, intimate glow. Antique mirrors—often distressed gold-framed—reflect soft lighting and the rich textures of the décor, enhancing depth and sophistication. A long communal “Koliwada” table adds a relaxed, convivial touch for family gatherings, while terrace doors open onto Blandford Street for a semi‑alfresco feel on warmer days that’s suited for intimate dates. The private dining room, set within the wine cellar, seats up to 12 around a solid oak table, perfect for intimate get-togethers.

As you’d expect from a Michelin starrer, Trishna’s staff deliver a service that’s polished yet personal, striking a balance between attentiveness and discretion. Knowledgeable about both the menu and wine pairings, the team ensures each guest feels genuinely welcomed. It’s this warm, detail-driven hospitality that elevates the dining experience and keeps guests returning.

The exciting new menu

This season, Trishna brings something exciting and refreshingly original to its diners: a vibrant culinary journey titled “A Taste of the Western Ghats”, available from May 1 to August 31, 2025. Inspired by the lush, spice-laden landscapes of one of India’s most biodiverse regions, the menu is a sensory tribute to its forests, coastlines and highland kitchens. You can choose between a 2-, 3- and 4-course meal spread across their lunch and early dinner tasting.

Your gourmet odyssey begins with a colourful selection of papads and house-made chutneys, setting the tone for what follows: refined yet deeply rooted starters like the Koliwada Squid & Shrimps with chilli and peanut chutney, the Coconut & Corn Tikki and the Malabar Quail Cutlet, which echoes the bold flavours of Kerala’s Moplah cuisine.

For mains, the menu dives into richly layered dishes such as the Beef Shortrib Coconut Fry, Chicken Chop Ghee Roast, Curry Leaf Coconut Salmon and the vegetarian favourites like Jackfruit & Asparagus Pepper Fry and Baby Aubergine Vathagal. For the rice main course, go with the delicately spiced Goan Prawn Biryani, while the Wild Mushroom & Morel Kaima Biryani offers an earthy, umami-packed alternative. The entrees are served with muringa parippu curry, Chettinad potato roast, basmati rice or bread basket.

To perfectly complement the A Taste of the Western Ghats menu, Trishna has also unveiled an exciting new cocktail menu in partnership with Diaspora Co.. Some of the innovative concoctions are the Aamra Negroni, blending wild Aamra mango with gin and Campari, and the Konkan Cooler, a refreshing mix of tequila, cucumber soda, and Guntur Sannam chilli. Also unmissable are the Shimoga Gimlet, with guava and fennel, the spice‑layered Kulukki Mule, and the effervescent Kumbhi Soda, infused with guava shrub and chaat masala. Each drink is crafted to echo the vibrant flavours and botanicals of India’s lush Western Ghats. Wine connoisseurs can pair their meal with Trishna’s award-winning wine list. Featuring an extensive selection of Old and New World wines, the list includes unique varietals and rare finds, alongside expertly crafted cocktails and non-alcoholic pairings. Knowledgeable sommeliers are on hand to guide guests, ensuring every sip enhances the culinary journey.

End your meal on a nostalgic note with desserts like Alphonso Mango Malai, Ada Pradhaman (a traditional Kerala-style kheer), and a trio of refreshing sorbets. From starters to sweet endings, Trishna’s A Taste of the Western Ghats menu is a bold, flavour-packed celebration of regional Indian cuisine and an unmissable seasonal experience for any discerning diner.
