Kay Beauty x Falguni Shane Peacock: Everything You Need to Know About the Limited-Edition Makeup Drop

After its triumphant debut at Space NK in the UK in 2025 – becoming the first India-origin brand to hit their shelves – Kay Beauty has been making waves in the British beauty scene. Now, the brand has truly dialled up the glamour with a dazzling new collaboration with internationally acclaimed fashion house Falguni Shane Peacock (FSP).

The limited-edition Kay Beauty x Falguni Shane Peacock collection is where beauty flirts with couture, striking the perfect balance of luxury, artistry, and wearability. At first glance, it is unapologetically opulent, think Art Deco golds and details so exquisite they feel closer to a keepsake than a makeup palette. The collection consists of 12 Luxe Matte Lipstick shades and two Luxe Face Palettes (each a 4-in-1 powder palette), effortlessly translating FSP’s signature craftsmanship and Indian heritage-inspired textures into wearable, couture-inspired beauty, with shades and finishes that make your makeup bag look gallery-worthy.

We spoke to Bollywood star and Kay Beauty co-founder Katrina Kaif alongside FSP about the inspiration, philosophy, and standout pieces behind this sumptuous launch, uncovering how fashion and beauty collide to create something truly spectacular for the British South Asian audience.

Kay Beauty in the British Beauty Scene: Performance, Care, and Representation

For Katrina, the UK launch has been both exciting and rewarding. “Seeing Kay Beauty on Space NK shelves, the first India-origin brand to do so, felt deeply meaningful,” she says. “What’s especially important is that the launch felt like a true collaboration with our retail partner.”

Space NK has helped bridge a gap in the beauty space, bringing products that cater to South Asian skin tones and making representation accessible. From in-store Diwali activations to tailored moments connecting with customers, Katrina notes, “It’s incredibly reassuring to see UK consumers respond authentically, from formulas to shade stories. This is just the beginning of our journey here.”

When asked about British consumers, Katrina is impressed by their discerning tastes. “They know what works, what lasts, and what feels good on the skin. What surprised me was how consciously they seek comfort alongside performance. For British Asian consumers, there’s been a strong emotional response. They want brands that reflect their undertones, routines, and lived experiences, without compromise. That connection has been deeply rewarding.”

At its core, Kay Beauty is about #ItsKayToBeYou, building a community where people feel represented, encouraged to celebrate individuality, and comfortable in their own skin. “Makeup should perform beautifully but also care for your skin. That comes from my own experiences on film sets with harsh lighting, extensive travel, and sensitive skin,” Katrina explains. “Globally, Kay Beauty aims to bring South Asian beauty into a larger conversation while staying modern and relevant.”

Translating Couture into Wearable Beauty

The collaboration with Falguni Shane Peacock was a natural creative dialogue. “We’ve known Katrina for many years, and she understands the nuances of perfection, just like us,” FSP explains. “From formulation to shade payoff, every detail mattered. The shared attention to detail shaped the entire collection.”

For Katrina, it was about finding balance. “We wanted the collection to feel elevated and global, while remaining deeply Indian at its core. Every shade, texture, and finish was intentional, inspired by couture but designed for real life.”

FSP elaborates on their inspiration: “We drew from rich Indian textiles – Banarasi silks, brocades, Zardozi embroidery, and cashmere. These materials carry depth and emotion, and we wanted the makeup to reflect that same luxury, layering, and expressiveness, without ever feeling heavy.”

Katrina adds that working with FSP was about translating emotion and confidence into makeup. “The matte lipsticks, especially Champagne Brocade and Mulberry Cashmere, capture that couture spirit – rich, pigmented, yet surprisingly wearable. And the Golden Dust Face Palette brings a subtle warmth and glow, combining highlighter, bronzer, shimmer, and blush in one effortless product.”

The designers note how this resonates with the British audience: “There’s a deep appreciation here for craftsmanship and considered design. Our shades and textures feel refined, expressive, and rooted in heritage, but very accessible for everyday life.”

Beauty Meets Fashion

For Katrina, fashion and beauty are inseparable. “Both shapes how you feel in the moment. What you wear and how you do your makeup changes your confidence and energy,” she says. Working with FSP brought in a sense of artistry and intentional glamour, all while keeping everything intuitive and wearable.

Even the shade names pay homage to textile traditions: Blush Zari, Mulberry Cashmere, Champagne Brocade – each reflecting the richness of Indian fabrics and the play of light on their surfaces. Katrina imagines a beauty look inspired by FSP couture: “Fresh, luminous skin, soft sculpting, a hint of shimmer on the eyes, and a refined statement lip. Effortless glamour, yet powerful and wearable, that’s couture translated into real life.”

FSP agrees that collections like this reflect a holistic vision of self-expression, where fashion and beauty unite. “Women now approach their look as one continuous statement, from garments to makeup. This collection is more than colour; it’s personality, heritage, and confidence.”

Everyday Couture for Brides and Beauty Lovers

Rather than listing products, Katrina weaves them into narrative advice: “For brides, I always think about comfort and reliability alongside beauty. The Golden Dust Face Palette gives a soft warmth and glow that transitions effortlessly from day to night. Champagne Brocade is the perfect nude – polished, elegant, and incredibly wearable for hours. And for a bolder bridal or evening moment, Mulberry Cashmere provides a deeper, confident hue. Together, these pieces let you move through every celebration feeling like yourself.”

FSP echoes this sentiment, praising the collection’s versatility and timelessness. “The Luxe Matte Lipsticks elevate any look instantly, while the 4-in-1 Luxe Face Palette allows for multiple effects, from subtle warmth to statement glow. It’s effortless glamour with depth and intention.”

The Philosophy Behind Kay Beauty

Katrina’s approach to beauty remains practical yet luxurious. “I keep skincare simple: gentle cleanser, hydrating serum, and a lightweight moisturiser with SPF. On tired days, a vitamin C serum brightens. The key is consistency and gentle, effective products that support the skin.”

She also rejects rigid beauty rules. “It’s less about breaking rules and more about discarding unrealistic standards. Beauty is joy, creativity, and empowerment, it’s about celebrating what makes you unique.”

Looking ahead, Katrina promises continued innovation with hydrating, glow-enhancing, multi-tasking formulas, while staying true to performance, care, and effortless wearability.

The full collection is available at SpaceNK.com and in select premium stores across the UK.
