In an era of extravagant weddings, south actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu and filmmaker Raj Nidimoru chose a path far more serene and spiritual. Today, on December 1, 2025, the couple tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony at the sacred Ling Bhairavi Temple within Sadhguru’s Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, India. For Samantha, the location held profound significance, a place she has often visited for solace, reflection and healing. It was here, amidst towering trees and an energy she describes as “pure truth,” that she wished to begin a new chapter.

Who is Raj Nidimoru?
Raj Nidimoru, widely known today as one half of the celebrated filmmaker duo Raj & DK, began his journey far from film sets. He studied engineering at Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), and along with his partner in crime DK, worked as a software engineer before switching lanes to pursue cinema full-time.

The leap from code to camera was anything but ordinary. Raj traded his stable NRI-engineering life in the US for uncertain scripts and auditions in India. Over time, the risk paid off: together with DK, they’ve carved a unique niche in Indian cinema and streaming with hits from their debut film 99 to the genre-breaking web-series The Family Man. Today, Raj stands as one of India’s most influential storytellers in the OTT age, a former engineer whose vision and perseverance transformed him into a director whose stories travel across languages and borders.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Raj Nidimoru’s relationship timeline
Samantha and Raj first crossed paths through mutual friends within the film fraternity, a meeting that was casual and without expectation. What began as occasional conversations soon turned into an easy friendship built on shared creative interests and a similar approach to life. Over time, they found themselves collaborating on ideas, exchanging thoughts on storytelling, wellness and the quieter side of fame. Their relationship blossomed quietly over the years, away from the scrutiny that often shadows public figures. Friends first, collaborators later and eventually partners.
To second chances

Both Samantha and Raj have travelled lives with layers, including marriages that shaped them in complex and emotional ways. Samantha was earlier married to actor Naga Chaitanya aka Chay Akkineni, considered one of South India’s most celebrated couples. They tied the knot in a grand, multi-day destination wedding in 2017 in Goa that blended Hindu and Christian ceremonies. Their union was cherished by fans across the country, symbolising a fairytale romance between two powerhouse families of Telugu cinema. But despite the beautiful beginning, their marriage eventually came to an end with a separation that unfolded publicly and painfully.

In December 2024, Chay got married to Sobhita Dhulipala. Raj, too, comes with a history. He was married and is now formally separated. For both, Samantha and Raj wedding was not just a union of two people but a gentle reclaiming of love and second chances.
The wedding wardrobe

For the sacred ceremony, the newlywed chose a bridal red sari that reflected her ethos: rooted and exquisitely crafted. Designed by Arpita Mehta, the hand-woven Banarasi masterpiece in pure Katan satin silk was created by a single master artisan.

It was adorned with delicate powder-zari buttis, a Nishi-woven border and subtle beige-gold zardozi embroidery using saadi taar, cutt dana, kasab and tiny mirrors. She rounded it off with temple jewellery. Raj complemented her in an ivory kurta set with a beige Nehru jacket.
