Food has always been the not-so-secret sauce to bring people together. A shared meal can dissolve barriers, spark conversations and forge bonds that go beyond the plate. For Seema Masson and Aarun Sanger, both IT professionals with demanding careers, it was their affinity with culinary adventures that became the perfect recipe for a lasting love story. Yet, their meet cute wasn’t at an Insta-worthy café or a trending restaurant, instead “we met at a work conference, of all places. I remember scanning the room full of name tags, not expecting anything more than a few LinkedIn connections and some networking small talk. And then there was Aaron,” shares Seema, revealing how their first formal interaction quickly escalated to an animated exchange about hidden ramen joints and bucket-list restaurants.
A few months into dating, their connection strengthened through soul-deep conversations and scrumptious food. Soon, the couple realised they weren’t just food enthusiasts, but the kind of food lovers who plan entire holidays around restaurant reservations, who debate flavours with the seriousness of critics, and who collect souvenirs in tastes and aromas. “Food and travel are our love languages. We travelled often to carve out memories in every bite, every city, every passport stamp. But nothing prepared me for our trip to Italy,” shares Seema, referring to the proposal that came during a golden afternoon on the Amalfi Coast, where lemon trees framed the sky and cliffs met the sea. “I was soaking it all in when I turned to find Aaron down on one knee. He proposed right there, in the golden light, with the ocean stretching behind him and his heart wide open in front of me. I was completely stunned, yet completely sure. I said yes through happy tears, laughter, and the overwhelming feeling that somehow, we had danced our way right into forever.” The couple decided to seal the deal in April 2025.
A Moroccan Prelude

Six months before their walk down the aisle, the couple jetted off to Marrakech for a pre-wedding shoot that encapsulated their adventurous spirit. Against the city’s ochre walls, vibrant souks, and sunlit courtyards, Pete Singh of Artisan Photography captured frames that felt both cinematic and intimate. “For the pre-wedding shoot, we had a vision of something editorial yet romantic,” says Seema.

“Pete took that concept and elevated it. He helped us in scouting unique spots, guiding us when needed, and encouraging us to just be ourselves. The final images were beyond what we imagined: timeless, playful, and full of personality.” The gorgeous shoot also set the tone for what would become a wedding celebration steeped in both tradition and wanderlust.
A Bride’s Vision Comes To Life

As a self-professed planner and perfectionist, Seema had been collecting wedding inspiration for years. “I’d spent years collecting inspiration, ideas, and daydreams, so once we got engaged, everything fell into place quickly,” she explains. Taking on the role of wedding planner, she crafted every detail with the precision of someone who understood that this wasn’t just a party; it was the beginning of their forever story. “Our vision for the wedding was for it to feel timeless, regal, traditional and authentic.”
A Sacred & Serene Anand Karaj

The couple’s wedding journey began with the Anand Karaj ceremony on April 21 at Gurdwara Sahib Leamington, where tradition and spirituality took centre stage. “It was important to me that the spiritual and cultural significance of the day came through in every element, from the serene setting to the floral details, music, and elegant attire.”

“We blended the sacred with the stylish, keeping the soul of tradition wrapped in refined luxury. In the end, it was everything I had envisioned—every moment, every detail, a reflection of us.” With Matharus handling the décor, while Mayaurs Catering provided traditional fare, the ceremony honoured the spiritual significance of the occasion.

Seema’s bridal look was nothing short of regal; a vision inspired by Aishwarya Rai’s iconic appearance in Jodhaa Akbar. Her breathtaking gold jewellery set from Guru Jewellers featured a bold Vama choker paired with an intricate necklace, statement jhumkas, a striking maang tikka, layers of traditional gold bangles, and a nath that added royal opulence. “Every piece felt like it belonged to a queen. My accessory look was bold yet refined, steeped in heritage, and perfectly in tune with the grandeur of the day,” Seema describes her jewellery choices.

Her ensemble from Mongas featured rich reds and golds, embodying the classic aesthetic she desired. Aarun complemented her perfectly in his traditional sherwani from Sherwani Studio, creating a picture of regal harmony.
A Reception Bursting With French Elegance

Five days later, the celebration continued at Goosedale in Nottingham, a countryside venue that provided the perfect backdrop for Seema’s vision of French classical elegance. “I wanted the reception to feel completely different—a visual and emotional shift that still flowed with the elegance of the day. I had envisioned a French classical theme long before Aarun proposed,” she reveals. The transformation was breathtaking. “We chose a soft pastel palette of blush, champagne, ivory, and powder blue to create an atmosphere of quiet sophistication. Each table was dressed in luxurious linens and adorned with vintage-style floral arrangements featuring garden roses, peonies, and trailing greenery in aged gold vases. Custom menus on textured paper finished with wax seals, ornate French mouldings behind the sweetheart table, and hanging crystal chandeliers gave the space a dreamlike quality. It felt like stepping into a modern-day Versailles, just a touch more intimate,” Seema describes the reception décor.

For this celebration, the bride chose a stunning champagne and gold ensemble from Kiran that perfectly complemented the French aesthetic, while Aarun opted for sophisticated formal wear from Chana Menswear.

“The evening was a curated experience, one that told our story through design, music, food and mood. We danced late into the night under a canopy of stars and chandeliers, surrounded by love, laughter, and the soft beauty of a dream brought to life.”
The Cake That Stole The Show

The reception’s pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the cake from Floraison Cakes. Standing tall in elegant tiers with hand-painted floral motifs and delicate sugar pearls, the creation echoed the vintage French aesthetic. “We chose flavours for each layer including the rose and pistachio that was a nod to our foodie roots and inspired by our favourite Parisian patisserie.”
Capturing Every Precious Moment

For Seema and Aarun, choosing the right photographer was as important as choosing their outfits. “A photographer freezes once-in-a-lifetime moments, so we knew it had to be someone special,” says Seema. The couple’s choice of Pete Singh of Artisan Photography proved prescient, whose warmth and artistry immediately stood out. “From the start, it felt collaborative, not transactional. Pete bought into our vision wholeheartedly and layered in his own creativity. That connection made all the difference,” she adds.

Pete recalls their clarity of vision, “Seema and Aarun wanted photography that was sophisticated yet natural. Think editorial portraits, cultural richness with strong story-telling, but also true to who they are. This aligned so naturally with our approach. We took their inspiration and layered in our own creative ideas, playing with architectural backdrops in Morocco, using soft light and symmetry during the ceremony, and embracing pastel tones and textures at the reception to match their French classical theme. We also made sure to balance posed, editorial moments with candid interactions so the final gallery didn’t just look stunning—it felt alive. It was about capturing their chemistry, culture, and elegance all in one story.”
Authenticity In Every Detail
What makes Seema and Aarun’s big day truly special was the impeccable attention to detail, from the carefully curated menu to the Pinterest-worthy décor. Hair by Sanj and Makeup by Bushra ensured Seema looked flawless throughout the celebrations, while Hyena by Massy created intricate mehndi designs that were works of art in themselves. The entertainment lineup included Infinitive as DJ, piano player Pally Matharu and Beats by Lions dhol, creating a perfect soundtrack for the couple’s love story. “It wasn’t just beautiful. It was us. And it was unforgettable,” Seema concludes about her stylish and sentimental wedding.
